Puerto Pollensa lies in the north east of Mallorca with the stunning Sierra de Tramontana (Serra de Tramuntana) mountains, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, behind it. The port is set in a wide and sheltered bay with a crescent of sand that slips into the calm blue water.
Whether building sandcastles, fishing for crabs or just reading a book, this delightful town really does have something for everyone.
And if you're feeling more adventurous, why not get on your bike? The island is popular with road cyclists, including Sir Bradley Wiggins. Follow in his tracks on a hilly climb to the lighthouse at Formentor or speed along the roads taking in the stunning views as you go. We have a bike map and plenty of guide books for inspiration in the apartment.
